I had just finished changing my posted business hours to let the "world" know that we would no longer be open on Tuesdays...I set the alarm and opened the front door to leave for the day (sad that no Tueday eXcuse had come around to replace the Poker and game night which had ended on 23rd of June) to find that standing on my front sidewalk were 4 handsome young men with guitars...when I asked if I "could help them?" they replied that they "just wanted to play a song for me!"  I turned around, unset the alarm, and invited them in....they played not one, but three origonal songs for me and explained that they were on a "mission".  I know that I too have been on a "mission" here in Deep Ellum for the past 5 years and I am privileged to play a small part in someone else's vision/mission, especially when they fulfill a part of mine.  Opium Symphony gave a great night's performance on June 30th and we plan that this eXcuse will become a regular one for our Tuesday's here at eXcuses.  Join us, starting at 7pm ( or earlier) for Happy Hour Specials, good food and some great music.......
